Projects

Business Rules

  1. Only the owner of a Project or an Admin can edit a Project.

  2. PRIVATE Projects are hidden from all other users who are not Participants in the Project by virtue of owning a Workorder in the Project.

Project Detail

Projects are essentially groups of workorders. We intentionally are keeping the fields at the Project level to a minimum. Projects exist to allow a person to have the “big picture” – to see how a group of Workorders relate to each other.

The start and end dates on a Project should include all the date ranges represented by the workorders that are in the Project.

Projects can be marked as PRIVATE. Projects that are marked as PRIVATE are not visible to other users, with the exception that users who have workorders in the Project can VIEW the Project.

Closed Projects are highlighted in green in the Project datagrid when using a filter that allows showing all/closed Projects.

If a user changes the Project Parent Type OR Parent, those changes are applied to all Workorders in the Project.

Workorders Tab

The Project Workorders tab shows only workorders that are in the currently selected Project. Workorders can be added to the Project by clicking the ADD button. This is the only place where workorders can be manually added to a Project.

Workorders are highlighted in green when they are closed.
