Hatch Orders

Business Rules

  1. HatchDate1 must be greater than Date Ordered.

  2. HatchDate2 is optional, but if it exists it must be greater than HatchDate1, and no more than 14 days after HatchDate1.

  3. For a Hatchorder to be closeable, these requirements must be met:
    • Must have a Quantity Received
    • Must have a Date Received
    • Quantity Available must = 0

  4. Date Received and Quantity Received may not be entered when creating a Hatch Order.

  5. When either a Date Received or Quantity Received are entered, BOTH values are required.

  6. Date Received cannot be future.

  7. When birds are received on a Hatchorder (by entering the Date Received and the Quanity Received), the system will automatically create the Weekly records for each Allocated Pullet Flock, and include the Pullet Flock Performance Standards. The number of Standards for the Breed determines the number of Weekly records. The week ending date on the Pullet Flock Weekly records is computed from Hatch Date 1.

  8. If HatchDate1 is changed, the week ending date on the Pullet Flock Weekly records will be recomputed from HatchDate1.

  9. If the Hatch Order is closed, saving is not permitted.

Monitoring the Different "Stages" That a Hatch Order Goes Through

  1. Stage 1 - Pending: When you create a Hatch Order record, you will typically be creating the record to send it to the hatchery. This means that the Order Number field is blank, because that field is used to record the Order Number assigned by the hatchery. When the field is blank, the record will be displayed on the Pending dashboard. When the hatchery sends back their Hatch Order, you will enter their order number. The Hatch Order is no longer "Pending".

  2. Stage 2 - Unallocated: When you create a Hatch Order record, it will not be fully allocated to Pullet Flocks, so it will be displayed on the Unallocated dashboard. If you fully allocate the Hatch Order, but then change the Quantity Ordered for some reason, that will cause it to show in this list again. The Quantity Ordered must exactly match the total quantity allocated to Pullet Flocks in order for a Hatch Order to drop off of this list.

  3. Stage 3 - Receivable: On and after HatchDate1, the Hatch Order will be displayed on the Receivable dashboard. You will need to enter the Quantity Received and the Date Received.

  4. Stage 4 - Unbalanced: When you receive birds on a Hatch Order, the Quantity Received is not always the same as Quantity Ordered. This will cause the Hatch Order to be unbalanced against the allocations to Pullet Flocks. The Hatchorder will be displayed on the Unbalanced dashboard.

  5. Stage 5: When you receive birds on a Hatch Order, and Quantity Received matches Quantity Allocated, then the Hatch Order will be considered ready for closing and will be displayed on the Closeable dashboard.
