Lay Barns

Business Rules

The capacity of a Lay Barn may change due to changes in the factors that govern barn capacity. When a Lay Flock is created, the Lay Barn capacity at that moment is recorded on the Lay Flock record. This is to ensure that when a Lay Barn capacity is changed, it will not throw historical flocks out of compliance.

Contracts

When a contract record is created, the End Date should be left blank.

When adding a new contract, the following rules apply:

• All existing contract records must have an end date in order to add a new contract.
• The start date of a new contract must be later than the latest existing contract end date.
• The contract quantity may not exceed the Lay Barn Capacity.

Be aware that the contract quantity on the open contract governs the maximum quantity when placing a lay flock in the lay barn.
